Property building in The Inn at Lincoln Square
The Inn on Lincoln Square is a beautiful old red brick residence. Its location is fantastic—on the traffic circle in the heart of Gettysburg. You are close to the battlefield visitor center. The property is between Seminary Ridge and Cemetery Hill along the main Union supply route. It is about 3 1/2 miles from Little Round Top and Devil's Den and 4 miles from the area of Pickett's Charge. You will not have to look far to find historical markers and monuments. The Mary Juliet Suite on the first floor was large and had a huge four-poster bed. The sitting area and bath facilities were more than adequate. It is a quaint old home with plenty of period character. It is a family-friendly property. Initially, I wondered if traffic noise would be an issue. It was not a problem at all. It was a peaceful stay. The hosts were very friendly and helpful. It was pretty genteel. There is parking behind the house and spillover parking in a garage nearby. Shopping galore is just outside the front door, and many good restaurants are within a block or a short walk. Some tried: Breakfast: One Lincoln is in front of the Inn. This is an excellent restaurant for breakfast and lunch. They feature healthy and traditional fare, which is a wonderful breakfast choice. The service is polished and attentive, and the prices are quite reasonable. I had breakfast and lunch there, with breakfast being the standout. There were groups of local professors and other people from town there at lunch. That is generally a very good sign. Gettysburg Baking Company: This bakery offers Outstanding pastries and sandwiches. It also has a sitting area and, of course, takeout. The food is amazing as is the service. Lunch/Dinner: The Sign of the Buck has a nice, clean, and cozy atmosphere. The inventive menu uses many locally sourced ingredients. Small bites are a good bet in the afternoon, and the service is efficient.

The Inn is well located in the center of town with convenient parking at the Inn and a parking garage nearby. We were warned that the location might be noisy but we were at the rear of the property and noise was not a problem. The owners happened to be there when we arrived and were most welcoming and helpful as we moved in. Be aware this is an 1860’s house with some things common to houses of that era – a narrow, low ceiling hallway and slightly steep, narrow, and creaky stairs. The apartment is clean and nicely furnished. The beds were comfortable though the one in the back bedroom was much too soft for me. The bathroom is small but the water is hot and towels were plentiful. The kitchen and eating area are spacious with a large table and plenty of chairs. Several pubs and restaurants are within walking distance. (Highly recommend the Lincoln Diner for quality, quantity, and price!)

It was 😍 ng to stay in such and a historical building, especially reading the history about the house and how it went through the generations of sisters and the positive impact on the community. Incredible location in the middle of historic Gettysburg square, next to the place where Abraham Lincoln slept. The only issue was we didn't know that. Sarah house was actually outside and not in the main building, it would have been a little helpful to note that you have to go through the side gate to get the door on the side of the building.

A perfect location in the center of historic Gettysburg. Taverns, a diner, Starbucks, and unique shopping were all minutes away by foot. We had rented all three rooms at the Inn, and an adjoining townhouse, for a family occasion and were delighted by the well-decorated and comfortable lodging. Parking was either onsite (3 vehicles) or at a close-by garage. We made some of our own history by gathering three brothers, their families and their nieces and nephews from up and down the Eastern seacoast. We will be back.

We had a 3 bedroom townhouse in a secured courtyard. Right on Lincoln Sq, the main part of Gettysburg. Kitchen, tv, wifi. Beds very comfortable. 3 parking spots in back. We didn't get one the first night, but did the second. We parked in parking garage a 6 min walk. That was covered by hotel as additional parking. Moved the car on day 2, but could walk to all restaurants and shops we needed to from either parking area. Less than 10 min drive to Gettysburg Battlefield and Cyclorama, 4 mins to Diorama.
